I love the parallax scrolling.. cept when you can see the clouds under the water.

Couldn't figure out how to pull my line in... just kept pressing space to cast a bit more out. Some instructions would be neat.

Look forward to seeing how it progresses.

Good work! I'm going to try to post the results for the competition in a couple of weeks so if you want to enter something a bit more complete be sure to send me your latest.

This competition is already going to result in at least one gold medal and I'd love to hand out multiple golds!

take care

I agree with you so much more on this one (granted, I WAS involved in the pre-post discussion). TECMO did an awesome job of making a game without carrying you by hand the entire journey and without the "press one button and unleash a barrage of flashing combos over and over" extravaganza we see so much in current games. It preserved much of the formula we saw in old school games, in that they needed effort to be played well and rewarded you immensely when you took the time. Feedback is not instant, and it's easy to lose yourself in the graphics+difficulty+wicked pacing combination and not see that the tools you need ARE there.
But it could be more forgiving. Replaying the entire game just because our rating was so-so and we realized that we would never upgrade that %$@#* wooden sword with our current orbs is a thing of our teen years, when our only concerns were to get good grades, spend our allowance and dream about that pretty chick next door. Sigma failed to recognize us as grown ups, as working people, as parents as we are now. It could have a stage select feature, a practice mode; and failed to acknowledge the hundreds of improvements games have seen the past years, such as better, smarter UI.
Still, it's as close to the balance as I've seen and I'm quite anxious to playing the next installment.
